Our story
Built in Chester, for the Methodist Church
Chrestos is developed and managed by ThenMedia Limited, a web-development business established in Chester in 2011. We started out building websites for local businesses and organisations, and along the way we began working with Methodist churches and circuits.
What we found was a Church full of people with a lot to say and not many easy ways to say it. Websites were expensive to build and hard to update, social media took time nobody had, and preaching plans were still being put together by hand. So we set out to build tools that fit the way churches actually work.
The same small team,
year after year
ThenMedia has grown since 2011, but the way we work has not. The people who design your website are the people who answer the phone, and every tool inside the Chrestos Cloud is written and looked after by the same small team in Chester.
That is deliberate. It keeps us close to the churches and circuits we work for, and it means a good idea from a circuit steward on a Tuesday can be in the software a few weeks later.

Every Chrestos tool is designed to be simple enough for a volunteer to use on a Sunday afternoon, reliable enough to trust with your church’s communication, and priced so that a small chapel can afford it.
If a tool gets in the way of the work, then it is the tool that is wrong. That is the test we hold every part of Chrestos to.
